What a Babe!

I know she's been here for 2 months, but I couldn't update my blog without starting with this most auspicious occasion: Becca's birth. Here's my little Buddha, Rebecca Naomi Knight, just a few hours after she was born. She came into the world on November 30, 2008 (her due date!) and weighed in at 9 lbs, 14 oz (yes, an almost 10 lb. baby!). It was a "good and efficient labor," as the midwife said. She's a great eater and sleeper and is really mild-mannered. We just love having her here!

Madi LOVES Becca. She's like a little mommy... well, a little mommy who sometimes almost crushes Becca with her body weight :). While she's still learning what is ok and not (ie: soft kisses-ok, smooshing baby's cheeks till she cries- not ok), she's absolutely enamored with Becca. When she came to visit at the hospital, she kept saying, "Aw!" over and over with intermittant "She's so beautiful, Mommy!" She also likes to play Rolley with Becca. Some of you may remember when she did this to Max, too. It's basically rolling the baby around the floor or rolling Becca onto her (Madi's) belly. Sigh... We're molding one day at a time :). Here's Daddy reading stories to the two girls.

Max has been handling the new addition really well. He also loves Becca and is also learning how to be soft with her. I have to watch him really closely because he always goes for her orifices... eyes first, then mouth, then nose. He calls her "Beh-beh" and always says it with a cute lilt in his voice... the same way he says his stuffed animal's name before he hugs it (more about Mr. Stinky- Max's security pet- to come). Max is still completely a Daddy's boy and actually experienced separation anxiety with Kurt way before he got it with me. (Note Mr. Stinky in Max's hand in the pic below). It's such a blessing - he's been in heaven spending so much time with Daddy while Mommy was with the baby.

My sweet Becca. She was named after Kurt's 7th great grandma (Rebecca Wilder) and Kurt's mom (Shari Naomi), both of whom were/are faithful, strong, and peaceful women. The name is a great fit because I just feel more peaceful and relaxed when Becca's around. She really is a sweetheart and VERY patient with her older siblings' harrassment.

Madi and Max like to leave Becca offerings when she's asleep.

This one was especially heartfelt, as Max left Mr. Stinky and Madi left both her favorite stuffed animal, "Chair Bear" AND Baby June. Now that is love.

This is Becca sneezing. :) I just thought it was a funny picture.

Well, folks, that's about all I can eek out tonight. More to come soon. I have quite a few funny Madi moments and some good Max stories as well, but they will have to wait for another time. Stay tuned... Hopefully, it won't be another 3 months!

Oh, Jenn, she is absolutely gorgeous!! I can't wait to hold her. I love her chubby cheeks. :) I'm so glad Madi and Max are adjusting. It sounds like you are doing very well too. Much better than I did adjusting to three. :) It's so good to hear from you, it feels like forever since I've seen you! Take Care :)
JENN! How did we get such similar families? I actually am feeling more overwhelmed than I've ever felt before with kids, 3 certainly has been my toughest adjustment. I think it's more the fact taht I have a 2 year old who still seems like a baby! I am taking patience to a level I've never taken it before! You'll never guess where my parents are headed to--- Moving to for the next 3 years--- Abu Dhabi, it's about an hour away from Dubai, have you ever heard of it??? Part of the work package includes flying all the family out to see him once a year! What an adventure,
So fun to see your cute kids!
see ya and GOod luck.

Man, when did Max get so big? What great big sibs, sharing their favorite stuffed animals! My sisters used to put me in a bag and drag me down the stairs . . .

Congratulations! She is a real cutie. Must be reassuring to have some bulk on the baby so she's got the padding to withstand the sibling love.
Welcome back, I've missed you.

How are you holding up, mommy dearest? Your blog always makes you sound like you have everything in control, and are taking everything in stride. But how are you really handling it? After Florida, I've been thinking about you a lot. I hope you're doing ok! Bubby

I love seeing some pics of the whole fam together. I didn't know that you had Mr. Stinky as part of your family. I need to hear a little more about him. Max looks SO big and so handsome. I can't believe I haven't even met him. My favorite thing is that Madi and Max leave presents for Becca while she is sleeping. That is so cute. You are handling three so well... you are going to have to coach me. (someday, not now, this is not an announcement.) Romney is so possessive of me lately that I am not sure how having a baby around would be. He won't even let me hold another child's hand in nursery. Psycho. Miss you guys.

Hooray! Love to hear the update on your family. Are you recovered from birthing an almost 10-pounder? I swear, it took me almost a year to feel normal again. Sorry if that was too much information.
